Manchester United striker, Wayne Rooney, has heaped praise on Liverpool ahead of their momentous Premier League clash at Old Trafford on Sunday.
The Anfield outfit are currently second in the Premier League table, 11 points ahead of Manchester United who are lying sixth.
Rooney admits although its difficulty to see their bitter rivals mount a serious title challenge, he has been impressed by their display and urged his side to be wary of the threat posed especially by attackers, Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge on Sunday.
Speaking to the club’s official website, the 28-year old said: “Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge are the Premier League’s top scorers and have formed a great partnership, but they also have a lot of other players in good form like Raheem Sterling, Jordan Henderson, and Steven Gerard.
“They have been dangerous on the counter attack this season so that’s certainly one thing we need to be prepared for and we will need to be tight at the back.
“There’s no doubt that this is one of the biggest rivalries in world football. They are two massive clubs who have competed against each other for years and both have been very successful.”
Manchester United must beat Liverpool on Sunday to keep their slim hopes of finishing in the top four alive.
