On March 16th 2003, Kenya lost one of the greatest rappers at the time, E-sir.

E-sir was returning home from an event at Club Dimples in Nakuru when he met his death along the Nakuru – Nairobi highway. He was accompanied by Nameless who survived with a few injuries.

His close friends and family have decided to celebrate his anniversary this year in a special way. Apparently, they will hold a concert at Carnivore grounds on April 2. The show will attract all artists who ever worked with him and all those who have recorded a song in his memory.

“Over the years, we have accustomed ourselves with just gathering at E-Sir’s graveyard, praying and presenting some flowers. But this year, we want it to be different. We are planning a show that will bring many local artistes together, who will perform as a tribute to E-Sir. They will include all the artistes who ever recorded a song with him and any other artiste who has ever recorded a song in his memory. It will be an epic night,” said Big pin.

Sorry Jared Leto, Lupita Nyong’o is definitely taken! A source tells Us Weekly that the Kenya-raised actress, 31, has been dating Somali-born rapper K’Naan since September.

The New York-based couple has bonded over their similar interests.

“She loves his humanitarianism,” says a pal of the “Wavin’ Flag” singer, 36. “They’d both passionate about African issues.”

K’Naan has two sons with pharmacy tech ex-wife Deqa Warsame. And the rapper’s pal notes that Nyong’o and K’Naan are taking things slow.

“She hasn’t met his kids,” the friend reveals.

CITIZEN TV SWAHILI ANCHOR SWALEH MDOE COULD BE JAILED OVER LOVECHILD NEGLECT ACCUSATIONS!!!

Citizen TV’s top Kiswahili news anchor Swaleh Mdoe is in trouble after a woman filed a case against him seeking to have his salary attached for upkeep of a child she claims he sired. Fauzia Ahmed wants the court to order Mdoe’s employer to attach part of his salary for maintenance of the child allegedly born in 2004.

She claims the news anchor earns in excess of Sh750,000 every month, but has neglected his parental responsibility. Following the filing of the case through her lawyer Danstan Mogaka, the children’s court has issued orders directing the Citizen TV news anchor to appear in court and explain why he should not be jailed for failing to obey court orders.

The children’s court directed the two parties in the case to appear in court on May 17. The woman claims they cohabited with him (Mdoe) since 2001 and got a baby girl in 2004 as a result of the union.

Swaleh Mdoe however, in response, denies he is the biological father of the girl. He further denies cohabiting with her. “I have never cohabited with the plaintiff, as she has failed to provide any details of where we lived. I’m a married man with a wife and children, and it would not have been possible to cohabit with someone else,” says Mdoe. He claims he only knew Fauzia while he worked at a media organisation in 2001 where she worked as an intern.

The woman is demanding a monthly upkeep of ksh. 95,000!
